Sharon Bronstein, MSW, CCC, is a registered clinical
counsellor, an experienced educator, group facilitator, and mediator
with 24 years of experience in private practice. She has a Master’s
degree in Social work as well as a Teaching Certificate.
She has
trained therapists and taught courses on drama as a source of team
building and community development. Her expertise in dealing with
conflict, along with her experience and training in systems, has
been an asset that she brings to organizations. In her work with
couples, she has been known to rescue many couples from the brink
of divorce. She has done pioneering work e-counselling on the Internet.
Sharon has studied with world famous teachers in systems, drama,
and imagery. Among these are Salvador Minuchin, Colette Muscat,
and Jonathan Fox.
Alan Caplan, MA, CCC, is a registered clinical counsellor, a former
college instructor in Communications, with considerable experience
as facilitator in a variety of settings. He has been a coordinator
of Counsellor Training in Addictions. He has had a private practice
in Nanaimo for the past 18 years. Alan has developed workshops at
Nanaimo Correctional Centre, as well as facilitated groups for abusive
men. Conflict resolution and creative problem solving has been at
the heart of his work. Alan has trained with Jonathan Fox, the originator
of Playback Theatre, Arnie Mindell in Process work, and Ira Progoff
in the Intensive Journal Process.
Sharon and Alan work with a variety of organizations in Canada and
the U.S. They are co-founders of Salt Spring Island Playback
Theatre Company. They are the originators of a unique creative approach
to problem solving for individuals and organizations.
